We had so much fun when Bryan Mays from KVUE came to film a segment in Papi’s Pies for his Foodie Fridays series. Sharing our story and the story of our restaurant with such a host who clearly loves all things local was a joy.
Our co-owners, Jose and Julio, are from Mexico and Bolivia, but have lived throughout the US, and Julio also lived for a time in Europe. The places we have lived are reflected in our menu, including Bolivian salteñas, Liege waffles from Belgium, our Huitlacoche crepe, Quiche Lorraine, and classic strawberry-rhubarb pie, to mention but a few.
A wonderful television journalist, we were in good hands with Bryan’s thought-provoking interview style. Watch the featured segment here from Foodie Friday with Bryan Mays, by clicking here.
Then, learn a little bit about the fine art of salteñas making from our co-owner Julio Palacios in this extra segment KVUE Filmed while here (click here to watch).
This television segment caused us to sell out of every crumb of food in the restaurant the weekend it aired, and we could not have been more thankful to Bryan and his crew at KVUE for their support in helping our business go to a whole new level! Thank you, KVUE, and thank you KVUE watchers!
